Teenager robbed in Bury

Date published: 16/03/2010

A teenage boy was robbed of his Ipod and mobile phone as he was walking home in Bury.

At about 8.45pm on Monday 8 March 2010, the 15-year-old boy was walking along Kings Road towards Bury New Road when two other teenagers approached him from behind.

They grabbed his arms and led him to Rochester Avenue, where they took his phone and Ipod off him and searched his pockets.

The pair then ran off towards Queens Drive.

They are described as white boys aged between 16 and 17, of very slim build. One offender was covering his face with a balaclava and was wearing a blue and white striped hooded top, while his accomplice was wearing a bandana and a grey hooded top.

Police Constable Brett Grange said: "While the victim was not hurt, he has been left badly shaken by what happened.

"A number of inquiries have been made to trace those responsible and now we are asking for the public's help.

"We believe there were a number of witnesses in the area and I would appeal for anyone with information to contact us."

Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 0161 856 6103 or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
